You never know where you'll find Pentax...

I was at a conference this week and a vender, Laser Technology, was showing off a new laser speed measuring device with a camera. When I opened it up look at what I found.

Hopefully it will have a "Friendly Fire" sensor in it so it won't take pictures of Pentaxians!

I saw one of those camera vans that Google (or maybe it was Yahoo?) drives around to get photos for street view. It had a whole gaggle of Pentax lenses on top. Pentax is watching you!

So Pentax was Big Brother all along?

Side note: I might be on Street View...in Belvidere, Illinois of all places. Saw the Google car drive past...might have a dorky look on my face

That would be really cool, but be sure that instead of a GreenLine you'll get a bright REDLine if u speed enough,

Recently our Institute bought a Rheometer made by Anton Paar (a German company) equipped with CCD imaging device to shoot the images of Gel during stess and strain applied. I saw a nice Pentax lens to be fitted with CCD camera. I was surprised.

that's quite neat. It will be cool if we could see the other industrial/commercial/military applications that Pentax gear is used...

that's neat about the google van too, wonder why Google chose Pentax, and why can't Pentax use that info somehow...

I guess Pentax lenses are pretty widespread, esp. in industrial embedded video solutions.

Go here -> PENTAX Imaging Company

and see another side of Pentax optics, not covered by this forum

I count some 93 different lenses and available tele converters. Would be paradise in SLR land
