Spring 2010 was spot on accurate a year before...that's pretty damn good speculation and assumptions if you ask me.
Hmm... ogl made that post on Oct 2, 2009.
And this is what Ned Brunnell said in a news article about 645D on Sep 18, 2009:
QuoteQuote:
"We've started development and the plan right now is to have it released by Spring 2010," said Ned Bunnell, president of Pentax Imaging (USA) at a press event this week.....
"The goal is probably PMA," Bunnel told PDN Gear Guide. "Though I can't say that for certain. Right now, we're just saying Spring 2010."
Pentax 645D Medium-Format Digital Camera On Track for 2010

Not much of a "speculation" if you ask me

Do you read other's posts? It wasn't speculation, it was well-known information. I've posted a link which quotes Mr. Ned Bunnell saying that, well before Olg's post (and IIRC the information was "leaked" beforehand on Japanese websites).
Ogl doesn't know anything; yet he posts a lot, probably hoping that, by pure chance, he will get something right. Also, his command of English is limited, spelling "I think", "it's only a rumour" or "I don't know anything but I'd wish to see..." is certainly impossible for him.

A little question I would like to throw in : witch of the current APS-C lenses, like the DA limited ones, could fully cover an APS-H sized sensor?

I think all these will show heavy vignetting at the short end. 17-70 will definitely so; 17mm is a quite extreme wide angle on FF.

Any insight or at least rumours of an improved new SDM II? With those claimed 5 new lenses this would be most expected, imo?

Why not a circular sensor that gets the full image circle?

Sorry, missed that. But really, forget about APS-H.

You're joking of course, but a part of me thinks -- why not? Suppose for the sake of argument that camera sensors had very high resolution and were very cheap to manufacture. If this were the case, we might happily have a sensor that is larger than the full image circle, effectively throwing away the corners of the sensors.

Given a RAW image that displays the full image circle, we could then crop the image in any proportion we want, as dictated by the image composition rather than the felt need to stick to a more-or-less arbitrary format.

Image sensors are improving in both cost and resolution, but not as dramatically as CPUs and GPUs -- no-one talks about a Moore's Law of image sensors. But perhaps in a couple of decades it will indeed be commercially feasible to produce cameras like this.

The issue with circular sensors would be the waste of sensor material, since they are taken from a rectangular wafer.

Just FYI, the 60-250 does cover full frame per falconeye's thread. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/31629-da-lens-...ml#post1046099
