massive hike in prices? Pentax lenses are already too expensive.
Ancient screw drive F1.8 31mm Limited will cost you roughly a $1000 nowadays. It's a great piece of glass, but seriously, I have 2 systems and if I need to spend over a grand on this focal lens which one will I buy, this one or Canon 35/1.4L? It's a no brainier for me.
