For me, wide-angle is of greater importance. When I had my Pentax 6x7, I made sure I got the 55mm f/3.5 with the 100mm filter. It was the lens before Pentax came out with the smaller f/4 lens design. I did a lot of shooting in New York City with that lens. No one ever stopped to question my credentials, simply because of the size of the lens. People would see that thing, and their mouths could hold the filter!
But then again, who questions a man with a 6x7 in his hands?
But it was the 55mm's coverage that really mattered for me. I still prefer wides over teles. For my ME, my 28mm f/2.8 was my standard lens. I seldom shot without it. Although, lately I've also been doing a lot of tightly cropped images as well. And the most funny thing of all, is that I'm doing all of my digital shooting in Black and White. A complete reversal from my youth (in high school), when I couldn't wait to be able to afford shooting in color film. But now, I've really discovered the beauty of B&W. It challenges your vision. That's the one thing the Kodak seems to be missing. NO B&W! At least I haven't found it in the manual I've downloaded to get familiar with the camera beforehand. And I'm certain the Pentax will have B&W as a standard feature. Again being a consumer product instead of professional.
