Is this Pentax News? Pentax for ELLE Magazines.

I'm not sure if this is news, but I am doing a huge Fashion Editorial for the Special Marriage issues of "ELLE" magazine, that will be published in 15-20 issues of "ELLE" Magazine around the world and I have decided to use my Pentax gear for this gig. See, you don't have to be sponsored by Pentax to use Pentax professionally.

Oh, if you guys at Pentax wish to promote your product using this information as a press release, don't. That is something that we will have to negotiate.

Will be using my trusty "Old" K20D and my 12-24, 16-50, 31ltd, 40ltd and DA 100 Macro.

Will post when I can. I may have to wait till it is published. I don't want to breach the confidentiality clause.

Ben

Congrats on the gig, and great stuff going with Pentax for it. Look forward to seeing the work you publish in it.

Is she still modeling? I remember a period of time where she was really hot, but now you don't hear much about her.

Camera choice

Nice to hear about your next big shoot with a Pentax.

I'm curious about your choice of using the K20D. Is there a reason you haven't gone with the K7?

I understand that there is no reason to toss a camera that works well and delivers the results you demand. But I respect your choice of tools, and wonder if anything about the K7 is putting you off upgrading.

It's not about tossing "one" camera that works well if I recall correctly Ben has something like 3xK20D and 3xK10D .

Smart move indeed Benjikan, at a few month of the scheduled avaibility, I bet that Pentax is finalising their list of beta testers for the Pentax 645D.

Time to line up for Pentax sponsorship again ^_^

Regards,
Guillaume

Nothing against the K7. Don't need it. My K20D's output is identical to the K7's. Actually...has different noise characteristics. It doesn't really matter. Like comparing oranges to oranges.

Again, at 100 iso which is where I generally reside, the output is outstanding.

Interesting...I would have thought you'd be shooting at ISO200 which is native sensitivity for the K20D's sensor. Have you noticed ISO100 being better or is it just a studio standard to set to ISO100 f/8?

Mmm? That's the usual urban myth. Iso100 is base sensitivity of K20/K7 sensors.

That was what I also what I believed, and I was making most of my daylight shots at Iso 200 until I found out with DXO comparator that the image dynamic is significantly higher at Iso 100.

Base Iso to my understanding is where the image dynamic / noise ratio is maximum, on that perspective Iso 100 is the base Iso for the K20D.
