There are DA70, FA77 and DFA100. No any space for DA90.
why not 90mm prime? we got DA 18-55, DA 16-45, DA* 16-50 and DA 17-70 - that's 4 lenses with overlapping range. and pentax is covering FF standards - DA 35 macro replaced 50mm macro, DA 70 replaced 105mm, DA* 55 replaced 85mm lens. i see perfect reason for DA 90. we still miss DA 135 (200mm equiv.), DA 24 (35mm equiv.), DA 9 (14mm equiv.), faster DA 35 (or maybe DA 28?), and even high-quality DA 135/4 macro limited.
i would like to see cheap DA 16 (24mm equiv.) and DA 18 (28mm equiv.), DA 9-16 (14-24 equiv.), too.

Here is another picture somebody posted on dpreview. You can see parts taken from DA 35 limited, together with slide out hood, which screams fake.

Even the distance scale is from DA35, so if it was a real lens it would have world's fastest AF. (and be impossible to focus manually)

We have already the 50-135/2.8 and 60-250/4 covering the 135 with a good quality

If Pentax was to realease a 135, I would expect it to be much faster than 2.8. A 135/2 or 135/1.4.

A weather sealed DA*135/1.4 or 1.8 would be a winner for me. Yes it would be in the 1500€/$ league (at least) but I would have the use for it.

Guillaume

It's fake. The front element is not recessed.

No, because I wouldn't be able to afford it.

Now a "simple" DA 28/2 WR, on the other hand...

As for DA28/1.7 - I doubt too.

Only DA135/2.8 LIMITED could be real.
Since when do you live in Japan and work at Pentax?

I'm waiting to hop on the WR bandwagon once Pentax puts out some good, fast primes. A 28/2 would probably be my first purchase if in the $400 range. They can do it!!!

The DA* 55 is just plain too expensive :ugh: I'll risk my $50 M 50/1.7 out in the snow rather than shell out $700 for a "normal" lens.

This one is quite different from the one posted by TS:

The one by TS has a distance scale similar to the one on DFA100 macro:

I think it's real, and this is why:
  1. Pentax already has a DFA 100mm macro
  2. Pentax already has a DFA 50mm macro
  3. Pentax already has a DA 35mm macro
  4. Nobody has asked for a new 100mm macro
  5. The non-macro gap for primes between 55mm and 200mm is still there
  6. There is still no fast, affordable, APS-C, normal prime

It makes absolutely NO SENSE for Pentax to release this lens...so...it must be true!

I can't believe this thread is eight pages long. That image is ridiculous--it's a 35 limited stretched, and in no way looks like there's any weather sealing!

Of course now I'm part of the problem...

You cannot see the weather sealing. This construction could easily be weather sealed.
Otherwise, it strikes me as being a weird choice for a fake.

The last image is a fake made by my friends from Russian penta-club. Just for fun.
We discuss first image from marketing director from Pentax Russia

If real, this lens is interesting. It definitely indicate that FF is to come (no surprise). It also seem to have Limited design elements without the Limited designation. This may indicate that the DFA lenses will all move upmarket; no need the use the Limited designation if "all" lenses are Limiteds. The Limited name is more fitting to a narrow series of lenses like we have now.

Yes, I have predicted this upmarket idea earlier although rather in terms of more extreme f-stops. It all makes sense, offering higher priced DFA lenses is the only way to still be able to keep the sales of the DA-line up. Offering similar lenses in FF as in DA would leave the customer with a no brainer decision.
