Quote: Oh, I agree; in fact, I think Pentax should weather-proof their whole line of lenses and leverage that for sales. However, there are other prime lenses that should have a higher priority than a WR 100mm macro. In order or priority:
1. Fast normal affordable APS-C lens, like a DA 28mm f/1.7.
2. Fast 135mm-equiv, like a DA 90mm f/2 Ltd or DA* 90mm f/1.4.
3. Fast 200mm-equiv, like a DA* 135mm f/1.8.
Once these empty slots have been filled, and only then, should Pentax start thinking about replacing currently available lenses.
Mis, I sat here for a while trying to come up with better ideas, I failed. They are indeed the first three lenses Pentax should add.
On the other hand, as has been said earlier the point of doing a DFA 100/2.8 WR is totally obscure and therefore it's going to happen for sure.
On the other hand, I think it would be more 'Pentax' if they introduced a 'DA 100mm f/4 Macro Limited' without aperture ring that only magnified to X0.5 and then never brought out a matching converter for x1.0.
