Actually Seiko has already experience in digital rangefinder cameras. Remember the first ever digital rangefinder camera Epson Rd-1?
AFAIK, Seiko and Epson are one company. The Epson Rd-1 was jointly developed between Seiko Epson and Cosina.

So I really welcome a collaboration between Seiko and Pentax.

Ummmmm...Guys...this is nothing new and is not a collaboration. According to the Seiko Optical Web site, their line of business is eyeglass lenses. They basically absorbed the Pentax line of eyeglass lenses in 2004 and acquired the right to the Pentax name for these products. This has nothing to do with cameras or any current initiatives at Hoya.

Steve

(Note...Hoya also makes eyeglass lenses (I have a pair on my face) and did so before their acquisition of Pentax...again, not pertinent.)

I wouldn't mind owning a Seiko Pentax camera. Has a better ring to it than Hoya.
