Ogl! Where's your thoughts on this.

Is the FA 31 and the DA 35 limited enough for Pentax (for a few years), or will they release a new fast prime in that range soon?

DA* 30mm 1,8 maybe???

I'd rather have a wider fast prime, like a 21 mm f2 or faster.

I think there'll inevitably be a DA* fast normal, like a 30 1.4,

But I think almost more urgently they could use an affordable normal prime, (I'd be happy if they maybe reissued the 28/2 or came up with a 30 1.8 or some such. Maybe the 35/2 could come out in a DFA mount or some such.

28 mm is very close to a "perfect normal" on APS-C.

In the meantime, the DA 35 is on my christmas wish list :-)

Yep, reason why I love my Sigma 28/1.8 macro. It is huge and heavy although, Full frame ready.

It is hard to tell Pentax plans at the moment, but they seems to be busy re-doing their existing lenses into WR - weather resistant - lenses. A simpler protection than the weather sealing in the DA Star lenses.

I believe we will have 100 f/2.8 WR, 14 f/2.8 WR, 12-24 WR, 55-300 WR, 10-17 fisheye WR - and after those there might come a new WR version of the 35 f/2, or a new 30 f/2 with new optical formula.

If Pentax comes out with a FF DSLR with 1080p HD video I will get the 20mm F1.8 and 12-24mm Sigma .
