I just received this from Pentax. However when I try to download the rebate form, it says download failure, corrupted file. Anyone else tried it?

its not worth it, you can save several hundred dollars buying off of amazon.

But you could buy it from Amazon, saving hundreds of dollars, and still get the rebate. Are you misunderstanding the terms of the rebate offer, kickboxingpenguin?

Amazon "sells" for what everyone else does basically. If you can find one for "several hundred dollars less", I'd like to see. I just bought the K-7 kit for $1115, which was among the lowest I have seen, but almost or equaled to by a dozen other places such as B&H, Beach Camera, JR, Abes of Maine, etc. Why would you think that would be any reason to thumb down a rebate if being offered?

The rebate form is in the K7 Box. I got $125.00 USD back for buying a DA*16-50 and an AF540-FGZ when I bought my K7. It took about 4 weeks to receive the cards. I used the VISA cards to buy my Epson 1400 printer.

You K7 buyers should ask if there's anyone around you that wants a discounted lens, let other people pay you for the lens, and maybe take a 25% of the rebate so everyone wins ;-)

I would love that.
I needed just a lens, but instead I ordered it at full price.

Thi is precisely what I did. I bought the kit for $1115.....minus 100 rebate...sold the 18-55WR lens for 130...made the total cost of the K-7 body at $885.

(furthermore, sold my K10D and grip for $450...which made total out pocket expense for changing bodies to be $435. not bad in my opinion.)

The rebate form says this offer runs through Jan. 15, 2010.

Does anyone know if that means you must:

--- purchase the camera and lenses by Jan. 15 (with a receipt dated as such)

--- have the rebate form in the mail and postmarked by Jan. 15th

OR

--- Pentax must have the rebate form and materials in hand by Jan. 15th

I read all of the fine print on the rebate form (great way to spend New Year's Eve) and didn't see any indication which of the above is true.
