It a photoshop job, the light is simply not right. And as said above the size of the lens is simply not enough to account for a 400/4.

Best regards,
Guillaume
Well, Fill Flash if used will explain a lot, and PP will explain the whole deal with the light issue.

And the finger that don't quite seem to touch the lens, the lighting of the hand being, different than the lighting of the camera ? Why would the fill in flash only light up the camera ?

The texture / definition of the image is also different between the camera and the rest of the image (which is significantly more grainy)

All in all I wouldn't be so certain with a low res image, but with the "high res" image, it just feels artificial.

And this is not to say that I wouldn't like a 400mm/f4

Best regards,
Guillaume

Doesn't it look like a fake backdrop, with fake sun rays photoshopped in over the model's face?

I guess I'm as bored as the rest of you. jgredline noticed that there's a Canon camera strap in the shot. Anyone notice where it is?

I think it is obvious even from a casual glance that this is a fake. The real question should be is this picture someone screwing around, or is this another viral marketing tease?

Damn you viral marketing! (shakes fist)

I think Hoya has shown that they have a much tighter control on "leaks" and just drop new stuff the day it's available. The KX announcment had nearly no pre launch rumours or hype as an example.

Don't forget the storm cloud that was only over the camera, hence only the camera is wet, while all else is dry :ugh:

I thought the small version looked ridiculous but the bigger version is even more hilarious

This one is definitely debunked, especially since that looks like the 300/4.

I'm really surprised no one has located and posted the original shot of the wet camera and lens

Those rain clouds are unpredictable I'd use the weather sealed equipment to keep rain out of my coffee

In this case I can agree that it's definitely photoshopped. But I think it doesn't exclude the possibility that it's a poor ps by Pentax and that the product is for real. Remains to be seen.

So, the consensus is that this guy went to the extreme to photoshop in a K-7 with the DA300 attached to it, Why?
