Pentax at Jan 7th 2010 CES ?

I don't see them included, will Pentax be in Las Vegas on Thursday?

Nice, Pentax has two booths. One is Pentax Europe and other Pentax USA. I wonder if they'll have the 645D either under glass or touchable with full specs, its lens line up and its system pricing.

I don't think so, it would be an unusual move to present a high-end photography product at CES - don't you think they'll rather display a bunch of colorful Kxes?

Red White & Blue Kx 's should swamp them I suppose, due to all the good press.

You never know though, hard to speculatulate why Euro-Pentax is also there?

I smell some colored & patriotic K-7 's for the new decade or 645D under glass, or all the above.

Probly have to wait for Photokina 2010 for any big product announcements. Wouldn't make much sense for pentax to do otherwise, as the K-x and K7 can easily carry them through the first half of the year.

There is also the PMA (international) and the PIE (Japanese) later this spring. We know we'll have the big announcement (645D, yay!) - but is CES big enough for it?
Photokina is far back, in September. I bet they'll have something for that show, too

My local camera shop guy was telling me that he spoke with a Pentax rep and there should be a K200D or K20D successor coming soon. The 3-series perhaps?

Pentax has been really silent on the lens front short of the new DFA Macro 2.8 100mm. Maybe some new glass will be shown? I believe we'll hear more about other cameras after the launch of the MF 645D this spring. Not before.

I do wonder what Hoya is up to, especially since Pentax Europe and Pentax USA will be both be in attendance. Why not just Pentax USA?

They've been exhibiting the 645D in a glass cabinet for a while, so I can imagine Hoya trotting it out as a look but don't touch exhibit.

It would definitely be on show for PIE 2010, hopefully as a usable prototype.

That sounds extremely unlikely to me, given the recent news from Pentax (interview discussed here). I don't understand why people think there will be a "K20D successor" different from the K-7 - that doesn't make sense at all! A "K200D successor" would make more sense, but you won't see that either, but you will see a K-x successor. And a K-7 successor.

Pentax has not tended to make announcements of new products at shows in recent years. Not certain if this year will be any different.
