I'd like to see faster AF lenses (SDM II)

Also:

DA* 10-16mm f2.8
DA* 135-300mm f2.8 add a 2xTC = 270-600mm f5.6

Zoom that ends at 300mm with 2.8 is very unlikely. 4.5 is more real.

I liked the idea of a budget FF at somepoint, but I`m acknowledged FF believer.

As many of you I'd like to have a low-light capable K-7 as well as faster SDM focus.

However, I also miss a normal, affordable (31ltd is great but expensive compared to competitors FF 50mm/1.4) ~ 30mm f/1.4 prime as well as a ~85mm f/1.4 and a 135mm f/2.0.

And of course a 400mm f/5.6 and a 70-200 f/2.8. And it would be nice if all the ltds also come as "Lowlight" versions with f/<2.0. But also a Tilt/Shift somewhere between 20 and 35mm (on FF)

That's all ;-)

I am hoping for at least one of the primes mentioned above ...

I'm hoping for some more affordable primes. Something with good image quality, but otherwise no-frills. E.g. a 50mm f/2 and 85mm f/2.

There was also talk of a 150mm f/2.8 Limited somewhere on this forum.

+1 for a K-7 with better high-ISO quality

My reflection

Ok, these are my thoughts:

Dreaming is free, fortunately.
I recently sold all my K20 gear,
just thinking about upgrading to the new announcement in Photokina.
(I read the inteview to a Pentax manager at another forum)

I don't want to be disappointed, but I'd better be prudent because
I still think there won't be any spectacular upgrade.

I'd also like to know if some of the Pentax managers read these forums
to konw about both compliments and, specialy, complaints. I know the
I+D is not a fast process, needs much time, effort and money but if the brand
wants to keep all its customers and fans, they should pay some attention to us.

Finaly:
the machine does not make us to take better pictures but, believe me, it hepls!

P.D: my message to Mr. Pentax: less Megapixels and concentrate in improving general performance.

There won't be any spectacular upgrade, from your K20D? What a funny idea...

Funny or not, I know about people (you can find at this forum also) that
didn't upgrade to K7 because they didn't find improvement enough
to spend money, and I do know other people who move to
another brand just a few months after having bought a K7.
That's why I say managers should take into account customers' opinions.

Perhaps I did wrong selling my K20, yes maybe...

I recall that were only my thoughts.

There nothing in common between k20 and k7 but sensor.
The rest is miles above k20

Perhaps to make a complete revolution they should have used
an improved sensor, I don't mean more Mpx.
I've read that K-x sensor behaves better...

Anyway, what's important for me:
do you agree that manufacturers should "listen" their customers
apart from doing market research?:

Some interesting wishes read in another forum:

Well, I used the sensor as an excuse to skip the K-7. Now I have this feeling, I won't be able to find any excuses But if you don't want to upgrade, then you should just do it (not upgrade, that is). No need for downplaying a very much improved camera.
I'm sure there would be some people who would say "but the new camera is not that much of an improvement, because bla bla bla". Whatever. The rest of us, the ones that can appreciate what Pentax does (not necessarily choosing their products, not necessarily thinking their path suits them), should wait at least for some data on the new model(s) before jumping to conclusions.

Pentax is listening, btw. Hey, Pentax! Hello and keep up the good work!

Affordable and 1.4 are not really in the same vocabulary.

1.7 - 2.8 are affordable.

One or the other. Pick a reasonable aperture and you get affordability.

I'd love to see (in this order):

- 10mm f/4 or faster diagonal fish
- 12mm f/4 or faster rectilinear
- 20mm f/2.8 or faster (yes I know, the 21mm and 24mm)

And if it's not too much to ask, make them WR in a nice metal body (screw SDM, I don't like it).

This lineup would replace my 12-24mm which is still my favorite lens right after the 35mm.

I predict the next pentax flagship camera will be even better that its predesessor, there I said it.

Now Pentax I have a suggestion or better yet an offer. Last weekend I was trying to take pics of my sons soccer game with my k20d, sometimes the camera would not lock on or sometimes the focus was just not good. So fustrating. Pentax I will pay you $50 bucks to send me a firmware update this to improve my k20d autofocus. Anyone else, I am sure if we get enough people they will go for it, we only need about 50000 people, comon.

it is a matter of business decision, not a vocabulary... FA50/1.4 was happily available for USD $200 not so long ago... Samyang 85/1.4 is available around USD $250 or less and do not tell me that to stick some plastic gears for screwdrive AF will double the cost.... and sigma 30/1.4 is a little more than $400 w/ either screw drive or HSM
