Pentax K-x ad, as seen on Home Shopping Network

Aside from anything else, the ad is a useful overview of the K-x, for beginners at least.

It's 'the highest spec digital camera they've ever offered.'

Big emphasis on the high ISO, super easy to use aspects of the K-x.

If it's good for Pentax, it's good for us, I wonder how many they sold.
I think they may have taken a few liberties with the technical details but I'm sure the buyers who have problems will find us.

I liked the bit where she dramatically said "12 megapixels" and showed the profile of the camera filling her hand like it was Ron Jeremy's schlong.

Did you notice that the guy mentioned the lens hood? Lens hood doesn't come with the kit\.

Pretty cool. This is great, great exposure for Pentax. Years from now the K-x may be remembered as the camera that brought thousands of new Pentaxians into the fold...

On HSN, the most effective part about the ad is the color. I am not saying that is a bad thing! Whatever it takes! I personally know a few folks that buy DSLR's as "status" symbols for taking pictures at their kids events (always on green mode), and the color will be enough to set them apart.

Looks like a good marketing strategy to get people into Pentax early. Now they need to improve performance and reliability of the higher end model so that they will stay, and upgrade!

She is hot and can hold my 'camera' any day!

I slow down the video, and I watch her lips as she slowly says P e n t a x.... they way they come together in that kissing motion at the P , then slowly open wide at the T... as if she is ready to receive my big Helios....

YES 12 mp.... YESSS Hi ISO oh gawd ooohhhhwwww aghhhhhhh

Agree good for the Camera.

Also mentioned that pressing the green button will set everything automatically for you. Gee doesn't seem to do that on mine

I took the challenge and managed to take a bad picture - in fact I beat that on my first shot!

Clueless is right, and because of that they may get may product returns since they are advertising it a like Point and Shoot and even says "in the style of SLR", as if it wasn't an SLR.
Even goes on to say that it is a 35mm married to a P&S.
I just hope these cameras go to people who have some idea as to what these cameras really are and be not complicated by what it really is.

They are always showing the lens with the hood.
I just hope what they are offering is something with a lens hood 'coz if I was a customer and didn't get one with a hood (as seen advertised), I would be p**sed!!!

Probably a lot of open box/refurbs will start showing up because of HSN.
