Do you think DA*28/2 is worse?

New Pentax instant-rebate drops the K-x w/18-55 to $500, two-lens-kit to $600 - 1001 Noisy Cameras

Why?

K-7 body is 999.95 USD already

If it's true, I'm glad but sad in a way. I suppose the primes do not cover FF and releasing these * models show that FF is not on a road map ever

These are very interesting lenses, would be a welcome addition.

Bringing out a Km2 seems a little fast, with the Kx still selling boatloads. Maybe it is to be a new K200

The name K-m2 is just speculation, it could be K20D/200D body with 12 MP sensor. But...I doubt. But I wish

A new model in-between the K-x and the K-7 could happen.
Same sensor, live view and movie mode and viewfinder as the K-x, but with K-7 AF system, with AF indication overlay in viewfinder, and metering plus weather sealing. And AA batteries of course.

I think there has been very long since we had a (somewhat believable) rumor. Finally!!! Even if it's not true it makes this section of the forum a little more interesting than just the normal FF/noFF- and EVIL/noEVIL-discussions.

So I guess Pentax thought that if they put out two primes that similar, 20mm and 28mm, people can not decide between one of them and have to get both. I won't, but I will certainly dream about both....

But my biggest hope is that the 10-16mm is not priced too high.

If that 10-16mm is true, I'd be very interested to see how it performs. I've been pining for an UWA in the DA* line and this would be a very tempting offering.

Having said that, I'll wait for something more official before I start tucking money aside for it.
+1

10-16 would be great.

They're not that similar - 28 mm is a "perfect normal" (~43 mm) on APS-C, while 20 mm is a real wide (~31 mm).

I have been waiting for that one well... 28mm , I could settle for thatbut I'd love f1.8 with that . My guess is when they realized how much they'd have to charge for teh DA*55/1.4, they decided to leave f1.4 (for now I hope).

Or maybe they have a hidden agende, DA*28/2.0 and then after half a year announce the DA*30/1.4.
Still, too late for Carnaval....

Aaaaand.... what if it's not K-m2, but K-L2 or K-2. A full frame camera with body size of K10D/K20D... ?

I fail to see why they would limit the zoom at 1.6x with f/4? A little more than 16mm would be more sensible.
