At least Pentax should reintroduce their 67->645 adapter, so the 67 owners can use their lenses with the 645D.
Still current AFAIK. The price however... Ouch !

As several posters have commented, there does not seem to be any official Pentax announcement of 645D being sold outside of Japan. Even the keenly watched countdown is only on the Japanese site and in Japanese. I'm afraid this week's official release may come as a disappointment. And if they only release the thing in Japan at this time, will they even provide review samples elsewhere?

Matt Beardsley's blog dated TODAY still quotes Pentax officials saying that the camera will not be released in the US.

Pentax U.S.A. said to me, by e-mail, that there are currently no plans for the unit to sell in the U.S. market.

Yeah that's the problem, people starting new threads when there's a current one already.

Anyway the new camera will definitely feature dual SD card slots (SDHC) that will allow concurrent or sequential write across the slots.
There will be interest in the pixel pitch of the sensor, 4000 effective megapixel sensor (44mm x 33mm) CCD, about 1.7x larger than 35mm film.
100mb of data per shot with custom image features

Good price

"The camera will initially be available only in the Japanese market at a suggested retail price of 850,000 (~ US $9,400) from May 2010. "

RRP of...$9400US.

In digital medium format circles, I believe that's known as "bugger all." Weather-sealed (yeah!) mag alloy construction, and...SAFOX IX+?

More at DPR.

Visually, its a nice looking camera. Can't wait to see samples from it.

Also announced a lens with it, 55mm f/2.8 SDM
