If that is the price I don't think they would be able to make enough to meet demand Art.

A Japan only release makes sense to me because the Japanese consumer doesn't return things after buying (unless they fail). The rest of the world might have to wait but let that market be used to iron out the bugs. If it's successful and it isn't rolled out worldwide, I'm sure there will be an option to order it.

Maybe. The rounded curves on the pentaprism and grip do appear 645d'ish.

But look at the low angle the teaser shot was taken from. If it was indeed the 645D it would look larger.

Anyway's, I'd prefer it if Pentax released a 67 IID. Why fart around with anything less.

I don't think the 645D will be relevent to more then 5 people on this forum.

Expect it to be somewhere between 9 and 12 grand, before you buy any lenses.

The people that have the cash, and the need to buy a camera like this are, right now this very minute, pricing out a Mamiya DM22 or a DM28. Some of them are looking at the predicted specs of the 645D, and are thinking, hmmm, maybe Pentax?

This beast from Pentax is not for the DSLR market. It is not for those clamering for the first Pentax EVIL, and it is not for those that want full frame.

The fact is, for 99% of us that use Pentax, the 645D might as well be made by Canikon. It is an entirely new system. None of our K mount lenses will work on it.

In the next year, I expect there to be eight 645D users on this forum. Three will be pros that can justify the expence, two will be amatures with the cash, and three will be gear collecting idiots that sold their car to buy the damn thing.

But if it comes in blue, then BOOO YAAA! I'll sell my car to buy one.

Me too I don't think it is a 645D. It looks too rectangular than the squarish 645D. Besides, Pentax may be using Sony's 24mp full frame sensor for a full frame. It could sell for between $2k and $2.7K. That would make a lot more sense than a 645D that may sell a few hundred copies if Pentax is lucky.

have a look at the left side of dark body and real camera, and compare. you can rotate 645D, fill with black in PS and you will see the same camera from web-site.

I hope it's not the 645D, that has to be the ugliest piece of photographic equipment ever produced...no I am wrong, please forgive me, it's the ugliest piece of any equipment ever produced! Can't someone translate what it says on the site, might be a clue there?
