Fast aperture is Mamiya's 80/1.9 or Zeiss 80/2 for 645...

Regarding FA 645 lens avaliability, well, you can buy them new in Russia and Japan, but what about the rest of us? Even second hand are hard to find, I'm still looking for a FA 645 150/2.8.
I will not buy the 645D, but I'm sure hopping that it's lauch will make buying FA 645 glass easier. I mean, they'll have to lauch some glass to go with it, right?

f2.8 is fast lens for 645 MF. it's f1.6 for 35 mm.
for example, 75/2.8 = 43/1.6 for 35 mm.
But the sensor in the '645D' won't be 6x4.5

I hope it's not the 645D, that has to be the ugliest piece of photographic equipment ever produced...no I am wrong, please forgive me, it's the ugliest piece of any equipment ever produced!
Err...show me a medium format camera that is pretty and sleek?
That's like saying you want an 18-wheeler to look pretty

I really hope that Pentax will put 645D way out of my reach so I won't even begin to be tempted. For me, above 5G and I am out. If $4,999 with a lens, my marriage will be in big trouble.

crop 1.0 = approx. 41.5*56 mm for film
and approx. 40.2 x 53.7 mm for digital sensor.

not 45*60 mm.

I don't know the size of sensor of 645D. 1.1 would be good.

And 645D will be with various sensors in future.

Pentax System 645 | Lenses
Amazon.com: FA645: Camera & Photo

it's not hard to find new lenses
The problem is import taxes outside EU... But thank you for the link from that german store, that indeed has FA 645 150/2.8, unlike amazon, which only has the zooms and the 75. Still, too expensive for my budget, hence looking for second hand, as I've sayd earlier. The thing is: new 645D means more lens, which leads to more lens in the second hand market. Same thing with 35mm FA lens, which are becoming more expensive second hand as no new lens are avaliable. There are still lots of film users out there, Mr. Pentax Boss!

Yes. If we say about Kodak sensor - 39. 40 and 50 MP.
My source of info - the size of picture ~ 39-40 MP. I don't know exactly.

It depends on Vietnam's Currency. Its had 4 depreciations recently

It depends on Vietnam's Currency. Its had 4 depreciation/revaluations recently.

On business channel a few minutes ago they said "Vietnam is Asia's Greece".

Greece has been tanking the Euro and some say Euro could collapse due to Debt Greece needs to finance.

I don't know,

So I Bloomberg'd it and here is first of many links:

Asia to Pay Higher Yields at Government Debt Auctions (Update1) - Bloomberg.com

I think thats bad, or is it good ???

Hoya moved all manufacturing to Vietnam and Philippines.

Is this good outcome for Hoya if VietNam suffers financial collapse ?

Regardless of what happens in Vietnam or Greece....I think like most cameras, the price will be down in 2 years.

Now...let me see if I hear you right.....Pentax is doomed because Greece is in debt which might pull down Europe which means Vietnam is in trouble which I am presuming Asia is doomed as Vietnam is Asia's Greece....which in turn will dictate the 645d price on eBay in 2 years.

I am starting to get the impression you hate Pentax....

Its just an observation

Its just an observation. If VietNam collapses will this mean Hoya get to build Pentax gear at lower prices or higher prices ???

I don't know.

Obviously off shoring production out of Japan was meant for higher profits, not better quality control.

I hope Pentax succeeds. More competition means better products we get to consider.

I've never used the Pentax is D-word

Anyways, its not Pentax to decide, Pentax logo and brand got bought out, so its Hoyas little division to build~up or kill~off or as they said recently "partner~up"

Vietnam has financial problems. Thats in the news today.

Is this reality good or bad for Hoya ?
