Interesting that this update seems to only exist on one non English website.
So far, it isn't on Pentax Japan's website, or either the USA or Canada websites.
I'll be waiting for this until it's on a website that I know and trust.

Don't trust your Pentax to strangers.
No problem to download now - the firmware will be the same.

I can also confirm that the 1.03 update now lets me record beyond the 45 second limit that my PNY memory Class 4 cards had on the K-7. The stop-to-start length is still long though compared to my SanDisks, but at least I can record the desired length now.

Thanks Hox

Swedish site worked fine for me.

Interesting firmware update actually, if it improves stability of cards. I had a very early issue with cards and they've still been flaky on me now. Great if that went away

Im annoyed 1.03 just for all of that?

How about just listen to what users have requested, manual video control etc.

I updated my camera, and now I can use my Adata class 6 card for video. It didn't record more than 30 sec. before the upgrade. As for chromatic and distortion correction on FA lens, it seems to work with my FAs. I'll try to do more testing with the FAs tomorrow, since it's kind of late to find conditions bright and contrasty enough to create some fringing.

I don't have the FA 50, just the three Ltd., so I can't answer your question. Hopefully, someone else will.

Wow, this firmware addressed two of my main grumblings: video recording cutting off at 45 seconds and lack of lens correction for my FA Limited lenses.

In typical Pentax fashion, I am sure they fixed other bugs they are not telling us about. Pentax has done this with the K10D, K20D, ETC.

Hopefully they did something with noise.

I just installed it and my K-7 started smoking when I turned it on.

Just kidding, everything seems dandy.

Which means this 1.03 firmware could have hidden fixes aside from the ones noted

Oh yeah, some guys upgraded the firmware to 1.03, and claimed that focusing w/ FA50 is better (sharper), exposure is more accurate (not as likely to get under exposed photos), high ISO noise control is better, SR is more effective, taking video is definitely better ('cause the firmware fixed some SD card problem) ...

Dream on
