Rumor: 5 new Sigma lenses

Sigma seems to be planning 3 completely new lenses + 2 redesigned versions. However, details and availability for Pentax K are uncertain at the moment.

85 mm 1.4 HSM (WOW!)
8-16 mm f 4.5-5.6
17-50 mm f 2.8 OS HSM

New 70-200 f 2.8 OS
50-500 mm f 4.5-6.3 OS HSM

5 new Sigma lenses and 2 new DP cameras | Photo Rumors

I don't know how long I've been waiting for an affordable AF 84/1.4 lens! This would be too cool!

True for 17-50mm OS & 50-500mm OS if what I heard is correct.

you gotta be kidding me =(

jsut got the sigma 18-50mm f2.8 if had known was an hsm version coming wouldn't have bothered

and top it off i got the 150-500mm because the 50-500 didn't have hsm - and suspect that this version along with hsm will probably have the in lens stablisation for pentax mount which i hear is better than in camera stablisation and the long end

maybe have to contemplate selling both these lens and getting the new ones now......just when i thought i had spent plenty on lens for the time being

These are not rumors.

DPReview has the press release for all of the aforementioned lenses on their site.

Sigma goes ultrawide with 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC: Digital Photography Review

Now the real question is: How much are these babies going to cost? 85 1.4's have a reputation for being a bit expensive (with the exception of the Samyang).

That 8-16mm looks really cool. It's pretty much an APS sized version of their 12-24mm.

$859 for the 12-24mm FF Pentax version:

I noticed that on the 8-16, for filter attachment size it says "TBC". Does that stand for "To be confirmed"?

Sigma isn't some fly-by-night operation.

Just that usually it will be a long wait for pentax mount to come out to the market as I see you won't have any problem for the canon mount.
