I'm not a silver freak but this camera looks good. Proper old-fashoned camera lust.

Thumbs-up from me! Don't these things normally retail pretty near to the introduction price for the 'unlimited' model?

Why even make the camera limited edition? I bet it would sell just fine and its not like Pentax doesn't need the money.

That focusing screen reflected in the mirror?

Pure sex, that.

But I have noticed the golden section has always been there with the Pentax digital focusing screens - the corners of the inner bracket are the golden section.

I am being picky but the screen is divided into the Rule of Thirds. It exactly matches my Katz Eye Rule of Thirds screen markings.

Golden Rectangle intersections would be a bit closer to the middle as stated in several photographic web pages.

Reminds me of my LX2000- definitely getting one of these K-7's for the collection!

The most important thing

Apart from looking cool, the K-7 limited signifies something else.

K10D GP edition was in a way a signal that the K20D was not far away.
The K20D titanium edition was available not too far from the K-7
The K-7 limited edition signifies what?

Maybee nothing.

if read the specs:

"The LCD monitor on the camera’s back panel is protected with a reinforced glass plate, which is highly shock- and scratch-resistant. This protective plate makes the K-7 Limited Silver even more durable and dependable than the original K-7, especially under demanding shooting conditions. Thanks to this extra protection, the photographer can concentrate on picture-taking in challenging outdoor assignments. :

Is the "silver" of it the raw magalloy, without the black coating/paint/PVD/whatever or is it just plastic or silver paint?

Anybody remember the Dr. Suess story about the Star-bellied Sneetches? They think they are better than the non-star-bellied Sneetches and the non-star-bellied Sneetches buy into this concept. So one day a entrepreneur comes to town with a machine that will put stars on the bellies of those without and they line up and pay. The star-bellied Sneetches are sad that their distinctive look no longer exists, until the entrepreneur offers to remove their stars for a fee.

Silver & Black SLRs vs All-Black SLRs vs Silver & Black SLRs is the photographic equivalent, apparently.
