More AF points and faster AF to compete with Canikon

A little better high ISO than Kx even for 1/2 or 1/3 stop

So you are basically saying K-7 with AA batteries? Anyways, I really agree with you about the high ISO stuff. It's like when you hear that the K-7 has lower high-ISO quality than the K-x, and suddenly it becomes the worst camera ever produced by Pentax. C'mon! It's so rare when you need more than ISO800, and in this case, the other cameras aren't crystal clear also (quick story, I was told that the 1D Mark IV has outstanding High-ISO performance, and yes, it indeed has. But when I was shown a couple of pictures shot in ISO 3200, I wasn't that amused. I was expecting crystal clear base ISO style photographs). Especially when you are shooting in RAW there is no incredible differences.
Not really, something with some of the K-7's general features set inbetween the K-x and K-7. Let the K-7 keep its cool/advanced features but give the K-5 some of its basic stuff that the K-x does not have.

And yes, ISO noise performance is being obsessed about lately and its pretty annoying :ugh:

just to show how technology changed the perception of people. it is somewhat appears that it is a very disgusting disease. in the 80's or early 20th century, people weren't complaining about noises, much more going past ASA 1000 or ISO 1000. I remembered in the late 90's or early 21st century, that ISO 200 was ok and ISO 400 was the limit. now some people complain or wanting to go past 3200 ISO. it would had been ok though if it's serves the purpose or essential for producing optimum image quality and necessity for use in atleast 25% of the shots. but still the fact remains that getting such optimal IQ still remains at base ISO levels. I believe this is partly influenced by marketing. High ISO is a good feature, but it is only become good on how much you tend to use it.

as far as ISO noise is concerned, it depends on whether you consider it as a good thing or a bad thing.

Well, I used Fujicolor 1600 when my first son was born in 1986. Of course those images are not usable for large prints, but I still love them, there's something very lovely about the coarse grain. And I could shoot (with LX and M-50/1.7) in the early morning without having to expose the new born to anything but very soft light. If I were a father-to-be right now, I think I'd buy a K-x body just for the occasion

IMO, we'll get the K-x with:

+ the new AF of the 645D (with AF points in the viewfinder!)
+ weather sealing
+ top lcd

would it be too much to ask for full camera control during movies?

there is appeal with coarse grain. honestly, I find it's niche on B&W shots as opposed to having a clean image. though clean B&W images are more into fine detail subjects such as architectures. but for your casual artsy, dramatic illustration of shots, coarse grain has much more better appeal.

Itīs only a modified K-7 modul, with new trimming and other lens element in front .
To Photokina will come 2 Bodys,no 35mm Sensor.

With best regards...

Is there room?

The K-x is just over US$500 with a kit lens.
The K7 is right around US$900 now and dropping

Is there room for a mythical K5 at around US$700?

And will Pentax finally decide whether or not they will use a hyphen (K-m/K-x) or not (K20d/K7) in their naming? That is most important!
