What the hell, Japan?

That's cool, but so useless.

I approve.

That is far too brilliant for mere words. It's unique, it's hilarious, and I bet it sells like hotcakes.

Sadly, it would likely be a miserable failure in North America... we're such a stuffy bunch.

It just needs to be tailored for North America to make it more functional. Perhaps the cameraman could hold a can of beer, complete with a long flexible straw? Or how about it acting as a holster for you pistol....? Or better yet, you could squeeze it to dispense cheese wiz...thereby making it disposable?

Well that takes care of the US, but what about Canada? I suppose the beer thing works here too... but it would have to be a replica of some Molson or Labatt beer to make sure it's instantly recognizable as a Canadian beer.

How about a hockey player with a black eye, missing teeth and a random Canadian NHL team jersey? I'd kill for a Montreal Canadiens one.

edit: a #9 jersey

That's hilarious, my wife and I were just talking about this kind of thing would only fly in a country where Hello Kitty is a national mascot.

edit: don't look at this if you like Hello Kitty or abhor cartoon violence: Neill's blog: H is for... Hagar the Horrible Hacking Hello Kitty in Half

What on earth is the point of these toys/gadgets? They can't even work in shooting kids' portraits if they're attached to the lens cap.

Well that's easy. Imagine the camera hanging around your neck with the lens cap on as you walk around. Now imagine the same thing with an accessory attached. Since the K-x is already quite the fashion accessory in Japan (thanks to its many colour combinations), the next logical step is to expand on that. Remember, this is Japan we're talking about. Totally different culture.

I'm in as long as the pint matches my camera. I can't wait for my Purple Haze k-x.
