Lets face it, if you own Pentax dslrs everyone in USA sees the internet price drop by half in less than a year.
To be fair, I think this is true for most electronics on the market. If not at one year, then certainly two as per the theory by Moore

Canikon do not drop their dslrs by Half of Launch in less than one year

Canon & Nikon do not drop their dslrs by Half of Launch in less than one year.

Nor does Sony,

Nor does Panasonic,

Nor does Leica.

The half price dslr in less than a year is a Pentax pricing model.

I wish everyone else followed the Pentax camera pricing model, but they don't drop to half price like Pentax does.

You win in the US! I certainly don't see the price coming down within that period in Canada (the K20D is a good case), which proves your point somewhat.
I was thinking more of the discounting that happens every late summer as there is a new model released in each of the manufacturers' lines, condemning the previous model to a price decline. If it doesn't happen, the price doesn't seem to tank (case in point, the D90)

And I think this year, due to the drop in the relative value of the US currency versus the yen, that the pricing decreases have been relatively less than previous years.

But essentially, you are right.
