If not evil then what about the size between the NX10 and the Kx? that can fit all Pentax lenses w/out compromise

IMO, Pentax dSLR can be grouped into 2 different groups. The medium format 645D and others.

For the others dSLR, I believe the following may happen :
1) Unknown model for Pro users, Full frame - maybe end 2011

2) K-7 upgrade for Prosumer user ,will be replaced in mid-2011

3) New model based on K7 or K-x to replace K5, for Photography Enthusiast, probably end 2010

4) K-x - Beginner/Entry level - will be upgraded/replaced in 2011

IMO the followings may be discontinued K10D, K20D, K200D and K-m can be discontinued (and some have already, like the K100D)
Unreal forecast. All will be in another way.

Wait for Photokina 2010 and many new toys...

I'm kind of curious to as why whenever you offer your rumors you always make them so vague that nobody can draw any conclusions from them. Can you at least tell us how many new toys there will be at Photokina? Maybe if they're in different categories?

Do you have an exact number? 2? 3? More than that? And also like I asked before, do you know what class ranges they'll be in? Full frame?

Did you mean only new lenses, or new cameras too? This is where you get a little vague. ;-)

I think it would be awesome if Pentax released both a K-7 and K-x successor and then maybe some of the lenses that we've been hoping for. I wouldn't mind seeing something in the 18-105mm honestly as a step up from the kit lens.

Yes, they can announced anything they want. But what is the time-line?
Middle of the year? End of 2010?
Then the features of the new FF. How good / bad is the features / functions?

More question to unravel the Pentax FF mystery.

i think the kx is as low as it can get. you don't want something like a nikon d3000 or sony a220.
my best guess is that it'll probably be a k200 replacement using the kx's sensor. yummy.

But if he is under NDA then he has to be vague. Trying to tease him is just unfair.

Are you sure they're not going to present old bodies and lenses at Photokina?

That would be original at least!

I can see it already, DPR frontline:

"Pentax shakes the world at Photokina 2010 and unveils the Spotmatic!

Hidden under this enigmatic name, the Spotmatic displays a host of new features:
- interchangeable FF sensors with more or less fixed ISO;
- a new mount based on an inventive process: no more time lost aligning two red dots, just screw it in and snap away!
- unlimited operating time thanks to a new mecanical shutter: no batteries needed!
- Full metal construction with HUGE VF!

With this ground breaking new camera comes a slew of new lenses, all metal construction, sporting superbly accurate and smooth new "TTR" AF mechanism (TTR= Turn The Ring...) that can be already found on eBay for only a few bucks!

... "

I don't know about you, but I am getting one of these babies!!

My guess is that at photokina pentax releases something similar to the NX-10. I also would not be surprised to see the k7 successor. By then it will have been out as long as k20d was when it was replaced.

Weatherproof EVIL based on K-x internals....

- new "EVIL K" mount for a new line of compact, WR lenses. Initial launch with 1 prime a la DA40 and one zoom

- adapter for existing Pentax lenses

This would be the perfect camera for hikers, outdoorsey types, and adventure-seekers. I would take a camera like this to the ends of the earth...

EVIL is not necessary a good thing (don't know for sure)- I used to own the Fuji finepix S20pro (before I discover the Pentax camera); everytime I turn the EVIL on, it sucks too much battery juice - that I have to use the viewfinder to preserve battery. Can someone confirm if EVIL actually takes more power than using only the viewfinder? Thanks..
