It will be an update to the K-X. It will be called the K-Y it will be a specialty product for the porn industry and amatuer porn makers.

Features will include 1080P video, in camera soft filtering, you can optionally have it record loops of funky bass tracks instead of through the microphone, you can program the green button to insert a fake orgasm into the soundtrack, there will be extra stabalization available for people who are multitasking while filming.

Three words: speed, convenience and safety
Speed: two cards can be written simultaneously.
Convenience: write RAW on the first card, the JPG's on the second card
Safety: write the same files on both cards. If one card fails, then the other is still working.
That's just a few of the many possibilities with a dual card slot.

Ah, thank you for sharing that with us. We are eternally grateful.

I really hope Penax don't come up with nothing new, that way I'll feel good about keeping my relatively new camera. otherwise I'll just have to buy that new piece of crap that probably won't even do what it's supposed to or else I'll feel like a toothless hillbilly living in some hillbilly shack somewhere

Well that maybe good for you, but that won't be good for Pentax. The money from the K-7 and the K-x is going to start drying up soon, and they're going to need to release something new and different if they're going to want to keep in the business of making cameras.

I've noticed on the BCN ranking charts that the K-x doesn't have quite the momentum that it had a couple of months ago in Japan.

It's just the market shelf life, since the K-x came out, Canon and Nikon, Olympus and Panasonic, and Samsung have all announced a ton of new cameras, which have taken all the attention away from the K-x. In no way is it a bad camera, in fact it's one of the best that I have seen from Pentax in terms of high ISO noise, but it's just old in terms of the market which is unfortunately for companies like Pentax who only put out cameras every so often compared to everyone else who makes them. When the K-y (lol) is released, Pentax will gain back that momentum again until the next cycle starts again. It's quite chaotic really. Hopefully they can stay ahead for as long as they did this time again too.

The KX is still the #14 seller in the Amazon store. The K7 has slipped to 34th.
