Well, traditionally they had only one manual 500, and never had an AF one, while they had, I think, at least four 4 different 400 (one AF) and two 600 (both AF).
But seeing how Pentax seems to convert old focal lenght by the crop factor, it seems the 300 (that convert to 450mm) seems to cover the old role of both 400 and 500 mm, so I expect a 400mm in the role of the film-era 600mm. A 400/4, with a couple of rear converter as good as the old L ones, would complete nicely the lens line-up on the long side.
