New GXR firmware, some good changes in this one:

GXR / Digital Cameras | Ricoh Global
THANKS!! I love my GXR so much I managed to pick up a second body unit for the 28 (the guy practically gave it to me). It's got the really old firmware on it. If I do the most recent update will it pick up all the others.

I believe it should get you all the updates, yes. I need to update mine as well. I haven't even updated it to the point to get focus peaking, yet, so for me it's going to be a whole new camera

COOL!!!!!!! Thanks!!!! I took a bunch of macro stuff with the 50 module walking my dogs today. I'll post them later. I'm starting to love that 50 module. I have the X Pro on pre-order but am seriously considering the M mount module for next year. I need to figure out what more or less portrait length lens to get for it. Something between 75-85mm with F2.0. Doesn't need to be any faster and could be F2.5. If you have any suggestions let me know. It will have to wait though. Between the GXR and Fuji, I just never use a DSLR anymore. Anyone who thinks the IQ on the GXR isn't fantastic is just not looking.

I'm still learning and try to find out more features from the menu, the latest firmware of 1.50 look like improve the AF quite a bit. Haven't really go to macro yet on the 50mm module. Some of the flower shots during the local pentaxians outing on last Saturday.

From the A12 50mm:

My A12 50mm has had a piece of dirt inside. I sent it to Ricoh Germany and within four (!) working days it is perfect cleaned back.

This is the kind of service I like to see with a premium product.

One year fun now with the GXR.

I´m a happy camper.

Last week in the English park in Woerlitz:

Please Ricoh, give me a A16 85mm f2 and I will stay for the next ten years...

Nice shots, Rainer!

I have to admit as the starter of my thread that I am currently without a GXR option as my A12 28 mm unit experienced first a damaging fall, then a damaging trip in a canoe (second one wasn't my fault, I was lending it to someone) and now it is no more. I am currently weighing my small camera options but truly no small camera appeals to me like the GXR does at the moment with its combination of tiny size and large sensor. I'd like to see what Ricoh comes up with at Photokina to see if they're going to support the GXR into the future or not before making a final decision-- a new A16 28 mm would be awesome!

Dear friends, inform me, please, if Fujifilm NP-95 and DP-90 batteries are the same or not? Is it interchangeable batteries?

I've found cheap NP-95 batteries...

So I think in this way too today... 85/2 - it could be great.

I'm really struggling with this. I just gifted my K200D to my niece, along with the DA 18-55 WR, DA 50-200 WR and DA 35 f/2.4 lenses. That leaves the K-5 as my only Pentax body.. along with about a dozen lenses including most of the DA Limiteds. I was thinking about a K-5 II or a K-30. But it occurs to me that a GXR would make a perfect second "Pentax" body if a K-mount module (especially with auto-focus) were introduced. So I'm waiting for that to happen, especially after the hints we've seen from Adam. Given the fact that I also have a micro four-thirds kit, it's kind of hard to justify yet another "system." But if that K-mount module actually happens, I might not need micro four thirds any longer. And the P10 module might allow me to also dump my Canon SX230. I'm hoping Ricoh Pentax will come though. In the meantime, a GXR with A16 24-85mm module is awfully tempting. I handled the GXR for the first time at a Pentax event in New York a couple of months ago and just fell in love with it.

I've sold K-5 and bought GXR A12 50 macro. As for me, 24-85 is not sharp...
