It was the lowlight GRD shots that first won me over. I still remember the night I took the first of them. These were from the first few days, just over a decade ago.
GRDIII,

I purchased this GRDIV not terribly long after I was last active in this thread because I'd been missing my old GRDIII so much. It was gorgeous and I was lucky to find one of the factory wood-grain grip versions. Turned out I hardly ever shot with it though - it was a nostalgia purchase, and though still just as wonderful to shoot, I rarely did because I'm almost entirely shooting film these days and I've always got a new film camera oddity to take around, along with my several standbys. Even nostalgic digital couldn't, it seems, entice me back a whole lot. I really don't shoot much with my new GRIII either, except for product photos and the odd family snaps.
Still, of all the digitals I've had over many years, this wood-grain GRDIV was by far the most handsome. I wound up selling it (at a profit) early this year to partly fund the GRIII.
It was a looker though.
