What were some of your reasons to move from the X100 to the GR II?
To "some" it may be considered a step back.

Ideally I'd still have both but I really wanted a compact with a big sensor. I also have an OMD EM5 for a system camera along with the P20 f1.7, PL25mm f1.4, Oly 45mm f1.8 and Oly 60mm f2.8 macro. So I have most bases covered and now something that fits in a pocket.

Small size is definitely part of what makes the GR great (indeed, pun intended).

From a visit to the Science Museum today.

Welcome to the forum!

The low angle and crooked angle works very well, as does the dark overhang on the right "pushing" the subject into the frame.

I forgot to check my settings and couldn't really see the screen in the harsh sunlight, so managed to overexpose this shot by quite a lot. I was surprised to see that I could get a usable result after pulling down the exposure about 3.5 stops. The colours were rather washed out so had to convert it to monochrome. I already knew I could pull lots of information from underexposed images, but didn't expect to get this much out of the highlights. How spoilt we are.

This is what I started with:

...and this is the end result.
