Beautiful pictures. Thank you for posting! #1 is amazing.

Are they out of camera or developed later from the raw-files?
I shoot raw 90% of the time, as was the case here. Ran them through Lightroom to "unflatten" them a bit. I try not to overdo it in my post processing--I want to keep my photos pretty true-to-life, while recognizing that a camera and an eye see things very differently.

The GR can do close-ups as well. Quite happy with this shot of a hermit crab on one of the many beaches of Príncipe island.

Thanks! I wouldn't mind a tilty screen for low angle shots like this one, but then I wouldn't want the GR to become bigger either.

Yeah, one of the (many) things the GR does well. Well, two - close ups and low light. The lens is very sharp from f/2.8, and the short focal length lets you get away with relatively slow shutter speeds.

I think that second shot has a film set feel to it. Looks perfect with the low angle of view - good catch.

This shot is nothing special beyond being a nice scene. One of those shots you get because the GR is in your hand anyway.

Thanks savoche, I like the second shot also . I had my K-1 with FA100 macro on when I saw this Caddy hearse and I was like, oh crap.. I need a wide angle again. My wife had the GR in her purse so no lens swap was needed!
I tried to get even lower angle with slower shutter speed, but no.. tilty screen and SR would be nice.. if thickness stayed the same . Oh, and for travel purposes a 50mm converter would be on my wish list!

I agree that a flippy screen would be sweet - but yeah, size trumps all.

Here's a shot that's not good at all, but that is way better than nothing. We visited one of the beaches on the island of Príncipe, Praia Grande, where the Green Sea Turtles come ashore at night this time of year to lay their eggs. This girl was about 1m/3ft long and estimated to be 50-60 years old.

It was pitch black, and to avoid disturbing the turtles we used weak torches/flashlights with red filters (and no flash, obviously!). So, f/2.8, 1/15s, ISO12,800, only the red sensels getting any light at all. I'm actually quite happy how they turned out.

Quite a different place and circumstance from the shots above; got this nice sunset on my way home from work the other day. The GR captures colours in a wonderful way. I find there's no need at all to touch the vibrance and saturation sliders - it would just make the colours too rich and look all fake.

...and something completely different yet again. A foggy day on the fjord resulted in a image of the more minimalist kind.

Love the low angle and blurry strip of foreground! I'd say you did well, both with getting a reasonably sharp image at that shutter speed and "rescuing" it in post. Not that it's easy to see much blur in this image at web size anyway.

Sometimes, with the right subject matter, a slight blur can be turned into something cool by converting to b&w and adding contrast and grain. Cheating? Maybe, but I can do what I want with my images, so there
