Practise, and you can get it down to 2.3 seconds.
I'm going to establish a new world record - 2.18 seconds. See you in Sochi!

Bought a GR around New Year's, enjoying it tremendously. What a FINE camera. First pictures I took were of a clear sky, to see if it had any dust spots as shipped. None. And -- after about two weeks -- none so far. Except... once... about four days ago. One image. Two fairly large, slightly fuzzy spots. They weren't on any images before this one picture, and they haven't re-appeared on any images since.

All I can think is that the GR, particularly here in Southern California, is susceptible to psychic phenomena, and may be picking up time-shifted traces of those flying saucers we had around here back in the 1950s. Go figure!

How long did it take and what was involved? Sometimes it is easier to take things apart than it is to put them back together.

I keep my GR stored in a Pelican dust proof case. If I pack it around in my pocket, I keep it in a plastic bag to prevent lint, dust and dirt from making its way inside.

I hate this.
I got a GR a few months ago and recently noticed a speck of dust on the sensor. I sent it back in to B&H and they're replacing it. I really had hoped this was an isolated incident but it looks like the GR is poorly sealed and is prone to accumulating dust particles on the sensor. I'm so discouraged. I guess this is what I have to look forward too for the life of my camera.

About an hour, one small phillips screwdriver, tweezers, rocket blower and microfiber cleaning cloth.

Well if you ever do it again, make a video and post it on youtube.

I think being proactive in preventing dust from getting inside, much like safe sex, makes good sense.
