I wonder... a GR at this sale price or a Panasonic GM1? I have a number of micro four-thirds lenses that I could use on the GM1, including the 20mm f/1.7 and the 14mm f/2.5.

Depends on what is important to you. If you want a 'small' camera that actually fits inside a pocket, the GR is the obvious choice.

I've handled the GM1, and IMO it does not feel good or like it was made for human hands. IMO it is an ergonomic nightmare. It feels abstract/intangible. By contrast the GR has a nice grip that feels good in the hand.

There are other reasons why I chose the GR over the GM1, but if you need more than a FF FOV of 28mm, 35mm and 47mm, then you're probably better off with something else.

I like the AWB, the cleaner images at base iso, in camera raw processing, and the one handed controls of the GR. I own theOMD EM5 and leave it home a lot now that I have the GR. I would guess the GM1 wont be much different in image quality than the OMD, so the GR would be my choice in either comparison.

I was also pleasantly surprised that the AF tracking on the GR is actually usable. Another plus is its leaf shutter for high speed flash sync.

I sold my Fuji X20 and several Oly lenses within weeks of getting the Ricoh. With its 28mm lens,35/47mm crop modes, and 21mm conversion lens, I can only justify keeping the em5 for use with longer lenses.
