@Steve.ledger -- "TAv is just another auto setting..." yes, that's true. But, for me anyway, it is very useful when the subject is moving or changing fast and I want to keep a fixed shutter speed and aperture. Convenient to let the camera manage the ISO speed... I'm not fast enough to do it in pure M Manual without losing track of the picture.

You don't need TAv for that, Jon. In M mode just set your shutter speed, set your f stop and set ISO to Auto in the range you want.

Guess I'm still thinking 'K-01', which I'm used to... and that's exactly what I do, since there's no actual TAv setting on the K-01. But it's good to see the TAv setting on the other cameras, and now on the GR. Apparently it lets you make EV adjustments while on TAv... which I'll experiment with sometime soon .

An aside -- how do you know the world's at peace this New Year's? Because CNN is going ballistic -- end-of-the-world coverage -- of, well, a cold snap in our eastern states. Snow ! Ice! Cars skidding, trucks overturning! Oh my. When I was (much) younger, I spent two winters in an old home in western Connecticut... in the hills. Just me and a wood fireplace. Unfortunately, no CNN reporters back then... or I would have had my 15 minutes of fame, kicking ashes off that perfectly-banked fire each morning to get it going again. Brrr!

Yes, once you switch to manual and use the settings above, the camera goes into TAv mode.
Look at the LCD screen, top left.

The K-7 doesn't have exp-comp in TAv. If you're on M setting with Auto ISO can you tell me why you'd need another exposure setting?
In any case, if you're shooting RAW ( and should be) then that's what Lightroom is for
