Thanks Alistair,

It's the magic of the GR lens..................with a touch of gentle tweaking added but very little, the lens really does deliver great IQ

I have been thinking about the mx1 or more likely the Oly xz-2 same but with a hotshoe as I do a lot of off camera manual flash, but I do like these GR images of yours,

Thanks Alistair,

The GR has a hot shoe so you can use a trigger on it for remote flash, the pop up flash will also fire a remote via optical slave.

To me, apart from the superb IQ / size / build of the GR, other advantages are:

Shutter speed range - 5min - 1/4000
Built in ND filter to allow slow shutter speeds / wide apertures on bright days
12 bit Raw image quality - I only shoot raw
Good LCD (1,230.000 dots)
Can use External flash with TTL-A and flash sync of 1/400
Base ISO - 100

These are just some of the reasons I chose this camera (plus previous ownership of Ricohs that proved reliable, durable and cameras designed by photographers for photographers).

All in all it is a winner!
