New Ricoh GR owner

Hi, Just got the Ricoh GR and learning it. Already very impressed I must say.
I have 2 questions:
1) it seems that when I use the Effects, it only impacts JPEG but not the RAW file, is this correct?
2) is it possible to move the focus box like with DSLRs? I have set My1 as my portrait setting and use Subj. Tracking as default focus option, but I would like to position the cross at the higher third to enable faster focus (avoid focus and reframe as much as possible). I could not find how to do this, is it possible?
Thanks in advance!
Francois

Right. The whole point of raw is for you to be able to start with the original image data rather than a processed image I recommend using RAW+ so you have the convenience of using either format when processing.

I believe pinpoint AF allows you to change what is focused on. Also, for portraits you might get better results with multi AF.

Congrats on your purchase!
The GR is a fantastic camera and it goes with me everywhere....unfortunately right now I am without mine for the next 2 weeks as I let my son take it with him on a trip through Europe...
The .jpeg files out of the GR are not nearly as impressive as the RAW DNG files. I never shoot jpeg's anymore.

Thanks Peter!
I will give the Fuji X100 (also a great camera BTW) to my son when he will travel to Europe
