Few languages in GR?

Hi all,
first, they must forgive my bad English. I release the forum with a problem... I will try to explain it...

I have two Ricoh GR, the everyday, and other recently purchased for backup. Today I updated the Ricoh backup (to the firmware version 4) but I found a surprise...

The everyday Ricoh has the Spanish language among many, but the Ricoh backup has English-only (and others languages using Non-Latin alphabet).

Do you know how to solve this issue? ...

Is your backup camera a grey market/import model? That might explain why it came pre-loaded with different languages.

I think so... The Ricoh GR was purchased via the Internet supposedly in a website registered in EU, but the shipment arrived from HK ...

If so, can I recharge/reload more languages?

Finally Ricoh has sent a firmware that corrects the issue of languages. I am very happy with the care provided. (Thanks Ricoh!)

This language issue is common in many product lines. (Try the famous computer OS, for example.) But in countries like US and Australia and most of Europe there are many migrants so they are people with legitimate reason for wanting products which can switch language to suit a migrant user and to switch to suit a person they ask to assist them solve a problem - and they want to buy local for the after sales service advantages. Many mobile phones and Apple computers allow on-the-fly OS language interface switch, but the other famous s/w brand is still in the dark ages - they sell separate products - so they demonstrate they do know how to produce different interface languages (and that produces other technical problems) and they do not support versions not targeted at the country where the service is needed. I encounter this at home often. My wife prefers an interface in her native language but is IT gear illiterate so when service is needed (to get it to do something different than it was set to do) the solution is for her to switch interface language and either I or our daughter fix the settings issue, and then the language is returned to the use language. I would think it easier to manufacture the product with one set of languages for all markets - so then there can be no problems like calls to non-installed functions etc (I had a Windows English computer which would be crashed because someone installed the Yahoo Taiwan (Chinese OS assumed) chat service - as an example.)
