Don't know if anyone else has noticed the artifacts/curved shifts in tone in dull, cloudy/misty skies in Hard B&W.
I've noticed artifacts on or around faces and hair, I was trying the hard bw filter with street photos last year. Less often, high contrast bw also has artifacts but less so.

This one is in w/ positive

Yes - I should explore the other B&W filters in those types of conditions. It would be interesting to know just what each filter is doing to the "original" - also how the selected filter affects the the histogram and whether you end up with a different RAW file for a given histogram than you would have done in, say, standard mode.
Yes, you're on to something there. I nearly always shoot with positive color selected, even though it's RAW only. I find I can't determine exposure very well with a mono mode enabled, I always convert to mono in-camera from the RAW afterwards.

Walberswick on the Suffolk coast. It is a pretty coastal village and it was cold and windy today. Second shot is shooting into the sun. I got very wet taking the last shot, standing in the sea with my wellington boots on when a huge wave came in and soaked me up to the thighs. It was a wet drive home

All Hard B&W mode.

Wow, so atmospheric! Those shadows on the last one, I bet could contain more information than they do in this edit while still having the level of contrast you desire.

Awesome! The GR cameras are really good at picking out small details like this in daily life.

I'm relatively new to the 'GR III club' as I have owned one for two weeks now. Great little camera with plenty of useful features. I discover them slowly as I haven't had the time to read the manual yet Here are some of my shots taken so far. Comments and critique are welcome!
