These photos show what a great street camera the GR is.

I'm really tempted to get the convertor, in no small part because I see you're using yours more often than not and with excellent results

thanks, it's been quite a change for me to not worry about shutter noise or having a "serious"-looking camera

frankly, converter is the most powerful incentive to buy GR.
I do not know analogues with such optical quality and for only 300 dollars.
If a converter is not needed, there are competitors much cheaper. For example, Fuji.

I went down to the store today to take another look at the converter. For me, It's bulky and must weigh at least as much as the camera itself, so it loses out on the pocketabllity and "stealth" of the original camera. Also the required adaptor adds a significant additional expense. I'm very happy with the GR-III for its intuitiveness and picture quality, but I have a K-3 and a 15mm Limited lens for wide angle work when bulk and weight aren't an issue.

I also have K-3 + 15 mm ltd.
These set cannot be placed on the same level with GRIII + converter: 15 ltd is much worse optically.
In addition, the K-3 sensor is older, this is noticeable in deep raw-processing.
In practice, my 15 ltd went out of use after purchasing the converter, it is so worse that it’s just unpleasant to use it.
