Except for constantly losing the front ring, I really enjoy this camera
Fall on the Madison River, Montana.
I'm not sure why the resolution drops from Flickr any time I link these days.

I had read about people losing the front ring before I bought mine so I vowed never to take mine off until I actually needed mine. I guess once its been off and on a few times, it gets a bit loose so mine is staying put

I looked at your shot on Flickr and on my monitor at least, the image size of your shot on Flickr is slightly smaller than the one above so I guess that is why the resolution looks worse on here.

I've never had a post deleted from PentaxForums but the first shot might just do it

By the way, you guys can keep referring to it as the "fall" but over here on the civilised side of the pond, we prefer to use the original 14th century, Latin derived "Autumn"

Riseform, I put a small amount of Plumbers teflon tape on the thread and it has never looked like coming loose. Try that. Geoff

Thank you!

I do use the adapter and wide angle and occasionally a circular polarizer, so it's on and off occasionally....but I'll give it a go. I'm now on my third ring!

I would imagine that they are not cheap?

They're not bad... $20 or so. JJC makes a nicer aluminum ring that can be had in the US for around $14.99, in multiple colors. I find the JJC ring doesn't wan't to get lost as much as the OEM one either.

I find it's a bit of a juggling exercise attaching and detaching the adaptor in the field, but overall it is worth having. I like how it handles the foreground elements in a shot.
I had trouble with the ring at first and took it back to the store where they took me through the process. I'm having more success now with lining up the two tiny white dots, but sometimes it still gets "cross threaded" and doesn't sit properly.

These were taken without the adaptor.
