The preset is certainly very good and a lot less effort than playing with the RAW file. I made a bit of a schoolboy error with the RAW boat above. In PS RAW convertor, I didn't apply the lens correction setting because I liked the vignetting. Then I decided to crop the right side of the shot so the left side looks too dark now.
On a similar subject, I've been shooting RAW and converting in PS for many years now. I load the image into Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) and more often than not I rely on the software's "Auto" button first then make fine tweaks until I'm happy. I then send the image to PS where I often crop the image, sharpen etc. I've recently realised that I should really crop the image as a first step in ACR before hitting that Auto button because its better for ACR to make its exposure corrections based on the bits of the image you are keeping rather than the bits you are throwing away.
