New GR ii Skips frames !

Hello Everyone
My name is John and I live in England.
I have recently bought a Ricoh gr ii and seem to have a strange fault very occasionally when taking a single shot the camera will take two or three shots in succession !
I have tried various techniques of pressing the shutter button to no avail. Unfortunately the problem only shows about every 25 shots.
Before I return the camera has anyone had a similar problem please.
All answers gratefully received.

Just in case the problem is not with the camera, but with the setup:
Go to the 'Shooting' menu 'Continuous mode' (11th item down) and make sure it is set to off.
Good luck.

My original GR does this occasionally. Never figured out why. It's less than every 25 shots but I do know it still does it every once in a great while. I've never really looked into it. I'd make sure your firmware is up-to-date. Not sure what you mean by "skips frames" - in my experience it fires 1 or 2 continuous shots with a shutter press instead of just a single. For me, since I always still get the shot I'm after, I've just never really thought much on it.

Further Information

May I thank all those who replied to my problem !
Strangely the fault appears to have cleared to be replaced by another one !
When I switch the camera on every now and then the lens will instantly retract and the Ricoh symbol is shown on the screen as if I have turned it off !
I am not happy with these strange goings on and think I will return the camera for replacement.
Thanks again for your help will let you know the outcome.
