Which Case for the Ricoh GR III

Hello there

Which case could you recommend for the gr III.
There are few pictures and infos about the gc-9 and gc-10 and I saw no pictures with the gr III inside.

Which (better?) alternatives are there?

Regards

I use a lowepro ridge 30, it's discontinued and cost me $3, but for size reference it should help. Fits well with a pocket for two spare batteries. If you want to use with the viewfinder attached you'll need a larger case.

If it helps judge other recommendations, I'll add that size differences between the older grd models (I have a grd1) and the GR iii make it a tighter fit for the latter, seems that the camera is slightly thicker.

I have the GC-10. The things I like about it are:

- It fits very tightly around the camera and doesn't add much overall bulk.
- It holds shut using magnetic strips under the leather, so you dont need to align anything it zip it up.
- Im a sucker for things made out of leather. It feels nice in the hand.

To be honest, it was expensive and when I opened the box I did have a moment of thinking Is that it?, but in actual use I like it a lot.

If youre looking for something more cost effective, Im sure there are lots of generic cases on the market that will do. Its basically a normal size for a compact camera.

I use an Optech neoprene pouch that fits snugly around the camera (a bit too snug with the viewfinder, but I don't use that much). Adds a bit of bulk but protects against moisture and provides reassurance in case of a fall. Cost me $30 CDN.

The Bundlestar Blackstar V4 Kameratasche schwarz Gre (L) works perfectly for my GRIII.

Thanks. There are lot of these still on Ebay.

I've got the GC-10 but only because it was bundled with the camera. Its nice but I would never pay the retail asking price which in the UK is a whopping 70. It is very soft leather, fits the camera snugly but not so tight that its difficult to get in or out and it doesn't really add bulk to the small camera, meaning that you can still stuff it in your pocket without the risk of the camera getting scuffed in the pocket.

Hi,
I've got GC-9 - it was a part of the bundle, otherwise, I wouldn't have bought it. The camera fits in nicely and tight. The closing strap with magnetic clip works well. It's not bulky and protects the camera from all the stuff it can encounter in a backpack (or wherever you happen to throw the camera in). OTOH, there is no extra pocket for the battery or anything else (but it is small, which is nice).
Altogether, I like it a lot, but - as I said - it was quite expensive and I wouldn't have bought it of not for the bundle. I might add a few pictures (with the camera inside) tomorrow if it's important for you.
cheers,
Chris

Does the GC-9 fit like a glove? I got my wife a GR III with a leather half case and wonder if this fits.

I have this one, super cheap and it works well: amazon.com : AmazonBasics Vintage Camera Case for Compact Cameras - Vintage Wax Canvas - Brown : Camera & Photo?tag=pentaxforums-20&

It's certainly not fancy but it's useful, has a belt loop and a D-ring, plus a small zipper side pocket which can hold a spare battery.

Yes, it does - the camera fits nicely into the GC-9, tight but not too tight.

That is a practical one indeed. If only I hadn't a myriad of bags already !
