GR Cameras in winter

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with using GR cameras when it's cold outside, say slightly above and slightly below freezing. What about when it's actually cold?

I regularly use my DSLR and SLR Pentax cameras in winter, with the proper precautions to avoid condensation; the worst I've had was a slow shutter on the km mechanical camera. Is there anything particular to the GR series that is an issue in winter, such as the retractable lens? I have a gr III and a grd1.

Thanks! And if you have photos taken with the GR in cold weather, please post

My first thought is battery life. The good thing is that you can probably keep the camera/battery warm in your pocket.

I regularly used my GR I (APS-C) in winter. I felt no limitations apart from being afraid of condensation - what is practically the same issue with any other camera.

Good point, usually the spare battery is in my backpack.

Great to hear. The GR III is my first camera in the series, and it hasn't been out for long enough to go through one winter I've only used it once on a late March hike, so it's seen cold weather but not often. I'm quite used to general precautions against condensation.
