Ricoh GRIII / auto mini-ISO speed

Bonjour

Cordialement

Translation (added by moderator):

Hello

I have set a minimum speed of 1 / 125th and I do not understand why in auto ISO (ISO 6400) it happens that the speed drops below the minimum speed. In this case, what is the setting for? Unless there is another setting that I do not know.
Thank you for your opinions
cordially

Hi there,

I don't know how the GRIII is exactly, but if the camera is trying to get the correct exposure, and cannot get it because it is a dark scene, and is already at max ISO and already widest aperture, then speed will need to be lowered.

Try the TV mode, set speed to 1/125. Then the camera will try to adjust ISO and aperture. On a DSLR, if it cannot get a correct exposure, numbers will blink in red and your shots will be underexposed.

I'm assuming you're shooting in Av or P, with a min shutter set to 1/125 and max ISO of 6400, then the behavior you're seeing is normal. The camera will try to set an iso high enough to ensure that min shutter speed of 1/125. If it's too dark at the max iso limit, it will lengthen the shutter (what you're seeing). If it's too bright for the min ISO (such as ISO 100, or what you have set), it will increase shutter speed.

Bonjour

Merci

Cordialement
