Where have you found such information?
I would be surprised since the last one was just a while ago and the development cycles for Ricoh are not the fastest in the industry.

From what I can find online, the rumours appear to be based on nothing more than Ricoh filing patents for two lenses that cover the APS-C sensor format and are designed for a short registration distance, as per the GR series. I can't find anything else to suggest this would mean a new GR camera later this year, and would somehow doubt it considering the GR III is only two-and-a-half years old...

Hasn't Ooku or someone else suggested a new GR is in the works? Cant remember the source but I thought one of the frequent leakers have said so.

It also seems the GR line is popular and profitable which makes faster iterations more likely.

There is a thread in the rumors section involving an electronics registration somewhere for a new camera model that may be for a GR, though there is no reason to conclude it is a significant change to the existing model.

I don't know. For me, unless the sensor (I presume it to be APS-C) is staggeringly better I won't have a reason to update. Would the sensor for K3iii works well in GR and makes it staggeringly better than GRiii? I just don't know. Now - if something like GR FF (not likely) or GR mono, then now we are talking. It's just that GRiii is such a great camera that I am not sure what you really do with that for improvement, other than sensors.

Different lens FL I guess... personally I'd see a narrower, say 28mm, lens having some interest - although I don't think I'm really qualified as a street photographer.

Current focal length is 28mm equivalent. Are you suggesting longer? I, personally, think there might be room for 35mm equivalent (24mm actual) as an option for a GRIII variant.

Wow. I guess the GR III must have sold very well for Ricoh to be (close to) releasing a follow-up so soon... assuming, of course, that it is a follow-up, as opposed to a completely new model. Either way, it's encouraging to see more new product releases on the way. Go Ricoh!

Mistral had mentioned that the GRiii (and Theta)'s very strong sales had quite literally saved the Pentax Boutique (Now Ricoh Imaging Square Paris?) from closing down. I hope this one also helps the balance sheet!

Yeah, I was talking in FL itself - a 28mm lens (so 43mm equivalent) would also be a touch tighter than the Fuji X100, so it wouldn't compete directly with that camera, and I'm personally biased to the 43mm FL (I often go strolling with just the FA43 on the K-1 and it works very well). I admittedly don't have a lot of experience with street, like I said, but for me a longer lens than 28mm eq. would be more of an ideal "carry everywhere" camera.

I would literally crap in my pants if they put out a GR mono. I would love that so very much.
