Wow, Sean Tucker speaking about gear, that's a first one for me to see. Almost all videos I saw were more philosophical then technical. Nice.

Yes, it is a rare day that he discussed gear, but if you have seen his videos using the GRiii, you know he is a fan.

Yes, the one with GRIII B&W print was pretty fun to watch. Nice little camera.

that's good to see - people trust him for good reason, so it can only be a plus for Ricoh, and hopefully will encourage them in this sort of interaction.

Yeah, at 28mm equiv I wasn't interested, at 40mm this is now on my radar. I've wanted something truly pocketable like this for a while but I would be endlessly frustrated at 28mm. I most frequently shoot 35mm and 50mm so this would work for me.

Timing is brilliant for the 2022 travel resurgence. That's why I'll be getting one. France and Germany in September 22. All I'll need to bring is my GR and the GRIIIx and I'm covered.

I'm excited to watch his words on this camera, he's one voice I've been looking forward to hearing talk about it.

That one you mean?

I can believe they obtained sharp 16x24" prints from GRIII, even editing in-camera or phone. I have a number of 20x30" prints from my K3 (24Mp) + Tamron 17-50, and they are sharp. But the GR III fixed lenses are significantly sharper than the Tamron zoom I used, so I'd give full pass to high quality 16x24" prints from a GRIII.

Yes, that one. It even made me consider GRIII for my home city photographs, as I use wide lenses, mainly 15mm Ltd and GRIII will be soooo much nicer to run around and poke my nose into places where big cameras are not really welcome. That 40mm in GRIIIx is also interesting, would be nice supplement to get some further away details. I wonder if GRIIIx teleconverters would work on regular GR III.

It does not, unfortunately.

I have a 20x30" print from the GR III, one of the first photos I kept from the camera. I never look at it that close, but it is very sharp and holds up fine for close inspection.

I've been using my affordable version of the gr iii x in tandem with the gr iii for the past few months. I think it makes sense, speaking of Sean Tucker's comment of how the two gr cameras could complement each other instead of being either or.

By "affordable version" I mean I use an old m43 camera, from when they were going all in to make very small cameras, and a normal lens. In my case, the lumix gx1 (10 years old soon) and the 25/1.7. Only makes me realize how much snap focus and other gr features matter so much, so I'd be interested to upgrade at some point.
