When I saw this photographer's Ricoh GR Digital scarf, I thought for a minute maybe this was the new Pentax Ricoh FF sighted in the wild:

*UPDATE* 5D Mark III Sighting?

Maybe it still could be, although this does look very Canony.

No, it can't be since it's just an ugly Canon (and I doubt there is any Pentax Ricoh FF in the wild).

I actually am quite sorry I sold my M 20 f4...
I didn't make the same mistake. I kept both M20/4 and K20/4 despite several generous offers.

The M20/4 is so small compared to the K20/4

Yes, it's definitely a Canon. Look at the back bottom wheel (just above the grip). I have a Canon 30D (to use with CY lenses) and I really hate that wheel.

How many older Pentax WA lenses are even out there?
I have kept my Pentax FA17-28 Fisheye Zoom, and My Pentax FA20-35/f4 for the last 10 years just incase, I also still have my 135 frame Sigma 12-24, and Sigma 8mm circular Fisheye as well as my trusty old Sigma Superwide II 24mm/2.8 Macro.

Nice. I've tried that FA 20-35 f4 before, nice lens. I shoot the Sigma Superwide II 24 f/2.8 macro on the FF D700 and it's very good - better than the Nikon 24 f/2.8, IMO.

No, the point is mirrored cameras used retrofocus design for wide angles anyways because they had to clear the mirror while as mirrorless didn't care about that but now with digital sensors they have edge problems.

In any case, current sensor technology is the problem, not lenses. We just need new sensor technology that isn't affected by edge problems.
Or reconstruct the lenses with bigger rear element like Fuji do

I'll await tests before concluding that they've actually succeeded. I wouldn't be surprised if the 18mm is quite soft in the corners at wide apertures.

Agreed, I'll also rather wait and see. First shots don't show such an overwhelming corner performance:

Yep one whiner complained. Duly noted. The rest of these internet experts were more impressed with the ISO performance which beats my D700. Looked about as good as my Nikon 24mm F1.4G at it's widest aperture.

And notice the hot shoe and eyecup... Signature cannon (pun intended).

Hm, I stand by my point that it might be premature to open the champagne for the job Fuji has done with this special lens design, which was the initial discussion - no more, no less. Hey, people here talked about selling off their 135 lenses, because of the supposed inferiority in comparison with this new design, well? Maybe waiting and watching might still be wise, I'm sure the new Fuji system will be great, but why not wait for more results?

You just made my point. The 645D fills a void, but likely takes exactly zero biz away from Hasselblad because those very premium shooters demand and require pro support.

Pentax sells a street racer while Hasselblad is F1.
If Pentax doubles the market size for a product category in the industry with the release of a single camera, does it matter whether or not they manage to steal customers from another manufacturer? Frankly, this strikes me as an argument for why Pentax would not need to court existing Canon/Nikon FF shooters to spin out a successful K-1 FF dslr.

+1. Pentax does not need expensive pro's, but wealthy amateurs. The pro market is already well served by the big brands, let them enjoy that while Pentax flourishes in its own part of the market
