Sounds good Ron. Where do I send the check?
I also accept Western Union

Well this came to my mind:

A full frame camera from Pentax for only 999 euro's? That's just insane!

(or do we still have to wait a few years for this to happen?)

Hopefully, no Pentax would be the camera equivalent of a Duster. A Toyota GT 86 would be a much better fit, IMO.

In those hi-end camera's there is a big pile of electronics that will cost more then the larger sized full frame sensor does. So I guess there is next to a fully packed camera also room for a basic-functional camera with the larger sensor and not all the expensive electronics.

Pentax could step into that market.
Can't agree more. That market is 100% free. There are no competitors there. If Pentax uses what it already has, but builds it around a FF sensor instead, it would sell like nothing else. Would probably even attract Canikon enthousiasts that want to switch to FF, but can't because of the high prices.

The results of a desultory education, I guess

It assumes that lenses from different formats must have the same DOF wide open to be equal; nothing else. And you won't neccesarily get the DOF you want with this faulty logic either as only wide DOF open is used as comparative device. This is treated as a advantage for larger format but this is not true in 99% of the time because you get longer exposure time a certain DOF compared to the smaller format. But we have been through this before...

Reading through this thread it seems that it must be a terrible day for some members of this forum when Pentax finally comes out with the much waited FF body... but guess what, you can still use your Aps-c bodies in the future as well. So chill out and think positive.

Releasing the FF body will bring good things to Pentax!

I'd love it if they brought out an FF. I'd have an FF body to use without having to buy new lenses. On the other hand... a 15 Ltd, a 77, Sigma 8-16, and a Tammy 70-200 2.8 come first. And possibly the new 560. Everything in due time, just it's a long way down the list. Notice all those lenses will work on an FF camera. It's not that it's not like a different piece of kit to ad to the others to expand your possibilities... it's just that I'm not going to feel bad if I never get it. It's just not that important.

It's not an IF norm, just a when, Ricoh seems from comments to see the need for an expanded lineup to gain share, and have a share goal that is aggressive , ultimately it will just be when the ROI on the sensor hits the spot they are willing to do it.
the 8-16 and 15 may be a problem on FF norm

OH ya, just ruin all my plans.... I think Aden still has 14s in stock... I might have to reconsider. Have you any idea how long it took to make that decision? The 8-16 I've seen FF shots, and at 8 mm, you get the circle thing happening in the middle of the frame, very cool. I think they said after about 10 it was good.

the 14 is not FF either (I have it and it vignettes badly, cool if you are looking for that. the Sigma 12-24 (all variants) is a FF lens though

Darn the Sigma 8-16 doesn't work on FF either, maybe I'll just go out and shoot myself.

Did you mean to say that Sigma offers a FF 12-24 in all mounts?

I think there's an additional, APS-C-only sigma, so you have to be careful what you purchase. I could be way off, though, too.

Spot on! And thats why those who like FF should stay with the valid arguments for the format like image quality and a larger optical finder....

Thats my main reason for wanting FF. Larger, brighter viewfinder. Going from my MX or K1000 to my K5 is a nightmare when it comes to manually focusing.

That being said. If Pentax came out with an APS-C with a brighter/bigger finder, 24mp, kept up the high IQ of the K5, improved AF, flash, and buffer for RAW id be a happy camper.

Im really not interested in wide angle. Most of my shooting is 50mm+ on aps.

Sigma EX DG 12-24 to be precise (and it does come in all mounts though the latest WR variant hasn't come out in K mount yet (The predecessor is around though still)
they don't make a 12-24 in DC (ie apsc) just the 8-16 and 10-20

and norm the 15mm 2.8 from Sigma (it's a Fishey though) is FF but it would need defishing effectively reducing it's FOV to more like a 16 or 17

the 12-24 at henrys Norm

http://www.henrys.com/64215-SIGMA-12-24MM-F4-5-5-6-II-DG-PENTAX.aspx

Aden doesn't list it.

Have you tried a Canon Eos 5D M3? I did, and to my amazement the viewfinder is a lot less larger than the MX one, I'd say is barely larger than the K-5 one with the O-ME 53 on.

Yes I tried a Canon 1ds iii and found the vf only slightly bigger than my k7. There's another area a Pentax FF can distinguish itself.

The Canon owner refused to believe that my MX had a much bigger vf, which is why I'm taking it with me next time I see him. Aren't I sad LOL!
