Just $ 200 !

When it reaches the market in march, we need to put $ 200 each month in a jar so we don't have to complain that it is expensive. We can just pre-order it!

Yawn.
When the full frame is officially announced I will get excited. In the meantime APS-C will do very nicely.

What lens will the FF come with? There has to be a standard zoom. I agree its coming, but not before they make a normal zoom for it.

DA*20ish-70ish. On the roadmap. Almost certain to be FF compatible. Next year. Happy?
Dream on, or be prepared to wait.

I wish this forum had a more active policy of combining all the different threads discussing the same things.

I'm perfectly happy with APS-C; I'm just pointing out that there needs to be a new lens for any FF. Unless people think they will release a FF without a standard zoom for it.

I see so much talk about FF and how they need to put a sensor into a small body and no talk about how there isn't a lens. There is 1 wide angle lens currently be made and it (FA 31) isn't even as wide as Nikon or Canon's standard FF zoom.

Lots of users are in this position; so the question becomes, would Pentax make a FF body for legacy lens owners? They very well might but it would be an interesting strategy. If so, that $2800 price point could reflect this. If they aren't going to get lens $$, they may put the camera out as a higher priced option for Pentax people; then down the line upgrade their FF camera AND drop it in price AND add a professional standard zoom.

I don't view that as particularly likely. But its possible. I suppose. Otherwise, they need a FF zoom and body.

Even though I have a stockpile of lenses, I would still be in the market for a high quality say 24-70 or 24-80 1:2.8 lens, a new 135mm and perhaps a wide prime. So I think there will still be a marked for new glass.

And I am pointing out there is a lens on the roadmap which could fit the bill perfectly, in the timeframe required. Relax.
